The Conference titled ‘Social Welfare Policy, Practice, Research and Education: Towards an Equitable and Sustainable Future’ aims to provide scholars and practitioners with a platform for social work academics around the world and local NGO practitioners for idea exchange to achieve an equitable and sustainable future through social policy, service Intervention, practice research, and social work education.

Distinguished speakers, including Professor Daphna Oyserman from the University of Southern California, Professor Junqiang Liu from Tsinghua University, and Professor Steven Sek-yum Ngai from the Department of Social Work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), will share their expertise on social welfare policy, practice, and research as keynote speakers. Additionally, we are excited to have twelve speakers including Professor Haijing Dai, Professor Hung Wong, Professor Jenna Mengtong Chen, Professor Dexia Kong, Professor Siu-ming To, Professor Emily Qijin Cheng, Professor Phyllis King-shui Wong, Professor Angela Jialiang Cui, Professor Mei-chun Cheung, Dr. Joanne Kit-ting Leung, and Mr. Kar-choi Chan from the Department of Social Work, CUHK, as well as Professor Amy Yin-man Chow from The University of Hong Kong, participate in the three plenary sessions, where they will discuss their impactful projects.

 

In addition to the plenary sessions, the conference will feature interactive workshops conducted by faculty members and representatives from Oxfam Hong Kong, Lingnan University, Concern for Grassroots’ Livelihood Alliance, CLAP@JC, Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service-Hong Kong, Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service, LC-HKS, Harmony House, Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, and Multicultural Connection. These workshops will provide participants with practical insights and wisdom on collaborative projects related to social welfare policy, practice, research, and education.
